Sinner and Saint
I don’t go to church on Sundays
Don’t read the bible everyday
Jehovah witnesses come to my door
I wish they’d all just go away
I find there’s people out there preaching
Their religion and point of view
Wonder if I believe in God
Cause I don’t think like they do
I’m not sinner I’m no saint
When it comes to perfect
Well you know I ain’t
If I talk to Jesus in my own way
It doesn’t mean I won’t get
To Heaven someday
I don’t need a house with four walls
Or a congregation to be part of
I’m not the kind to follow the trends
To show my belief in God’s love
Been told that believing that way
I might be sealing my fate
And if I don’t ever change my ways
I won’t be seeing the pearly gates
(chorus)
I use a sunrise for my stained glass
A fallen birch tree for a pew
Rustle of the breeze for my music
And my roof’s made from a sky of blue
I talk to God when I need to
He’s always there for me
Whether it’s high up in the mountains
Or a sunset by the sea
(chorus)
